Upottery Pre-school CIO
Please jump for Upottery Pre-school CIO! We are a local Pre-school who rely on fundraising to maintain our building and purchase learning materials for the children who attend here. We are currently fundraising to update our bathroom/toilet area, and any money raised from this jump will go towards this.
The Pre-School building was built over 30 years ago as a result of the generosity and hard work of local people and has been part of the community ever since. We are located in the centre of the village of Upottery, near Honiton in East Devon and our pre-school operates from a self-contained building in the grounds of Upottery Primary School. We actively encourage outdoor play and are lucky to have two outdoor areas for our children - one of these is a soft tarmac area with a wooden playhouse and the other is a grassed area with wooden play equipment (lottery funded in 2014), a sandpit, bird-feeding area and areas to grow plants. The pre-school serves the local community of Upottery and surrounding villages of Luppitt, Rawridge, Yarcombe, Dunkeswell and Churchinford. We also have some children from Honiton. Our staff offer individual care and attention to all the children in a supportive and friendly environment where your child can play and enjoy the early years of their learning. Our last Ofsted inspection took place at the end of 2014 and we were awarded a very solid 'good' status. The report said 'Children enjoy a well-organised learning environment and they are happy and confident... Children learn through a range of stimulating first-hand experiences and exploration of a wide range of resources'.
