Farms for City Children

Jump for Farms for City Children because we are committed to offering life enhancing experiences developing potential, building self-esteem and enriching the lives of thousands of children each year.
“It was nice when I was feeding all the animals. I mostly remember when I get outside more because at home I don't go out to play.”
“The children return with higher self-esteem and more confidence. . . The most disadvantaged children see that there is life beyond the estate.” Every £300 you raise can subsidise a child's stay on one of our farms.
You can even see the Iddesleigh area whilst you jump so you can try and spot the farm if you're mind is not on other things!

Farms for City Children is an educational children's charity founded 36 years ago by well-known children's writer Michael Morpurgo and his wife Clare.

We offer children from all over the country a unique opportunity to live and work together for a week at a time on a real farm in the heart of the countryside. It is an intense, learning through doing experience of a different life for children who may not know where their food comes from and have limited opportunities to explore the outside world.

Children with special educational needs, behavioural problems, those who find it difficult to fit in and those with language difficulties find something they are good at on our farms and this helps to build their self-esteem, communication skills and therefore their confidence.
