Jumping for Heroes; Cast from the hit TV show Band of Brothers jump for charity - Sunday 21st August 2011
On the morning of Sunday 21st August, cast members of the Band Of Brothers TV show arrived at the Centre in original military vehicles. They jumped out of a plane to help raise funds for the Richard Winters Leadership Project. Spectators were in force to support the cast from the hit TV show, with most wearing military clothes to celebrate the day.
The cast went on to the nearby Wings and Wheels event on the Sunday where Re-enactors, military vehicles, classic cars, aircraft and other attractions were at the event.
Band of Brothers was a ten-part, 11-hour television World War II miniseries, originally produced and broadcast in 2001, based on the book of the same title written by historian and biographer Stephen E. Ambrose. The executive producers were Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, who had collaborated on the World War II film Saving Private Ryan (1998). The episodes first aired in 2001 on HBO and are still run frequently on various TV networks around the world.
