| Q. What are the requirements to become a tandem instructor? |
| A. In the UK a minimum of 800 jumps and 8 hours total freefall time. We have 5 full time tandem instructors with a combined total of over 20,000 jumps. |
| Q. How often will our tandem instructors jump? |
| A. In a busy month, over 100 jumps! |
| Q. Does the tandem equipment have a spare parachute? |
| A. Yes, all tandem equipment has a spare (reserve) parachute. The equipment also has a device called a "Automatic Activation Device" which will deploy the spare parachute in an emergency situation. |
| Q. If I book in with a group, can we all jump together? |
| A. We will endeavor to keep groups together when possible. Please request at front desk on arrival. |
| Q. Can I breath in free fall? |
| A. Yes, however it is natural to be tense jumping out of a plane for your first time, which can make you think breathing is hard. Simply shout or scream to find you can easily breath. |
| Q. Can I wear my glasses / contact lenses? |
| A. Yes, we wear goggles in free fall. If you wear glasses we can provide you with over sized goggles to go over your glasses. |
| Q. Can I take my camera with me? |
| A. In the UK, even your tandem instructor is not permitted to carry or ware a camera! We have a dedicated camera team available on request. To wear a camera there is a minimum requirement of 200 jumps and approval by the DZ's chief instructor. |
| Q. How do we land? |
| A. Your instructor will be in control of your parachute for landing. As you glide over the landing area you will hear him clearly shout "Legs Up". Normally both you and your instructor will sit down on landing to prevent tripping over. |
| Q. How long does the aircraft ride take? |
| A. Our aircraft (Beech 99) is one of the fastest jump planes in the world and enables us to go to 15,000 feet above sea level in approx 10 minutes. Most UK based jump aircraft will take 20 minutes to get to 10,000 feet. |
| Q. How long will the free fall last? |
| A. From 15,000 feet above sea level, approx 1 minute. |
| Q. How long is the parachute ride? |
| A. Depending on how your instructor and yourself fly the parachute, up to 7 minutes. |
