The group of forces wives who took off their clothes for a fund raising calendar is now a fully fledged charity.
We are called Garrison Girls Ltd. The charity's sole aim is to help serving and former service personnel, and their families, to recover from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Our latest calendar of nude forces wives is now on sale. The models are all married to former or serving servicemen. The beautiful images were shot by former army officer-turned-photographer, JP Downes. JP has produced stunning pictures of real women in gorgeous locations with a military theme.
Director of Garrison Girls Ltd. Sarah Bennett Thurston, says having a photographer who has deep familiarity with forces families and culture really helped the wives feel comfortable.
"We are all wives and mums, so to pose nude was scary, but JP's military background helped, and taking your clothes off is nothing compared to what our husbands go through when on operations,”
“We also all know how PTSD can devastate families and we’re doing this to help keep military families intact. This calendar is our tribute to all servicemen and women. We hope the public will support us by buying a calendar.”.
