  • This is an opportunity to complete a solo parachute jump and put yourself in control of the skydive. You will have one day of training for the jump. You will make a solo parachute jump from 3,500 feet on the next jumping day. Your parachute will deploy (open) automatically as soon as you leave the aircraft and you will navigate yourself back to the dropzone for landing.

Please be aware that there are more restrictions than tandem skydives, for example maximum age 54, height/weight restriction but it is more fun!

Why jump for us?

Please jump for the Darcy Ward Foundation. We are supporting 24 year old injured speedway rider Darcy Ward with long term care and rehabilitation following spinal injuries suffered in a racing accident in August 2015.

About Us

The Darcy Ward Foundation was conceived in August 2015 in the aftermath of the shocking racing accident in Poland that curtailed the career of then 23 year old Australian Speedway Star, Darcy Ward. Having suffered a severe spinal injury, Ward was left with no lower body sensation and only limited movement from the chest down. He will need constant care and support for the rest of his life.
The speedway community quickly rallied around the young star who was at the very top of his game at the time of the tragedy and within a short period of time benefit meetings, fundraisers and events were hastily arranged across the globe.
Now, in 2016, the Darcy Ward Foundation is itself planning for the future and is creating a unified effort to keep supporting Ward on behalf of his many thousands of fans. Here in the UK, the efforts continue and the initiatives have already been many fold from young fans undertaking cake sales and sponsored walks to a full scale gala dinner organised by Ward's former team manager Neil Middleditch. Plans are already underway for further benefit meetings both here and in Poland. Fund Co-ordinator, Nigel Leahy, says we are busy putting together future ideas to keep the momentum going. We have already forged links with long term partners such as sponsors Monster Energy and Darcy's former speedway clubs at Poole and Torun all of whom have already shown outstanding support and we will be looking to formalise links in Sweden and of course, Australia.
Our vision is to provide lifetime support for Darcy and maybe even to grow to such an extent that the DWF will also be able to support other deserving causes. We welcome ideas and initiatives from all over the world where people recognise the tremendous loss to the sport and the life changing effects that the accident has had on Darcy himself. We simply need to keep things moving.
