  • This is an opportunity to complete a solo parachute jump and put yourself in control of the skydive. You will have one day of training for the jump. You will make a solo parachute jump from 3,500 feet on the next jumping day. Your parachute will deploy (open) automatically as soon as you leave the aircraft and you will navigate yourself back to the dropzone for landing.

Please be aware that there are more restrictions than tandem skydives, for example maximum age 54, height/weight restriction but it is more fun!

Why jump for us?

Please Jump for Derriford Children's Cancer Service Trust and help us lift the burden on children with cancer and their families.

About Us

Derriford Children's Cancer Service was established to enhance the care, support, and facilities provided for children undergoing treatment for cancer, and their families, which are not available through statutory funding or other charitable bodies.

Funding decisions are made by Dr Myooren Wimalendra, Consultant Paediatrician with special responsibility for paediatric oncology and his team, which includes medical and nursing staff, lead nurse, play-specialists, social worker and clinical psychologist.

The team works very closely with the children and families, developing strong "partnerships in care". Who better, then, to know their needs, than the Health Care Professionals and families working alongside each other.

The needs of children with cancer are often immediate. The DCCS fund can respond to that immediacy, often on the same day. That is what makes the real difference to the child and his or her family.
